  • Me going off on something

  • Dead Ends
I was finding nothing but dead ends looking for a job before this started. I got laid off back in March from my part time job temporarily, but now looking most likely indefinitely. Guess I really, really screwed up somewhere along the line, I just don’t know where.
  • Meet the new boss same as the old boss…
So the Madrid City Council punted the public safety building down the road yet again, again citing funds. (While somehow having $7 MILLION for Public Works?) Guess instead of a new and improved mayor & city council we got the same mayor & council we had just with different bodies in the seats. Seriously, how […]
  • July 31, 2018
Warning: Political post incoming. Having been reading/listenting to the goings-on at city hall since April’s shitstorm has left me rather.. disappointed? disturbed? I’m not sure how to put it, but whatever it is – it is not good. People have been asking for the city council to be more transparent about things, but rather than […]
  • Communication & Transparency
I was meaning to write this post last month after the city council meeting on April 16th, but between leaving for Kansas City later that week and end-of-semester projects at work I haven’t really had a chance to sit down and do it. I was rather disappointed by some of the posts on Facebook ahead […]
  • Net Neutrality III – Grassley Response
So I received an email from Senator Grassley yesterday regarding Net Neutrality.
  • Net Neutrality II – King, Ernst Responses
Unfortunately the FCC lost it’s mind this morning and voted to roll back the Net Neutrality rules, which so far seems to be supported by Iowa’s Congressional delegation. Responses from both Senator Ernst and Representative King are below. I’m told Representative Blum gave a similar response to one of his constituents. I have yet to […]
  • Net Neutrality
I’ve shared a number of posts regarding this topic on Facebook and Twitter but there’s a few things that I feel like delving into here. I’ve seen a number of items talking about how “Trump’s FCC” is trying to repeal the rules “Obama’s FCC” implemented, as if this is somehow only because of Trump. This […]
  • Soapbox
A few weeks ago I glanced at an article in one of the local papers about county officials being sworn in and their thoughts on issues. I noticed both of the new county supervisors and the re-elected county sheriff all brought up the radio system. I realize the supervisors are inheriting a problem from their […]
  • On local news…
To be honest I was a little disturbed by what showed up in the local news last week, mainly because of the amount of inaccurate information presented. For those wondering what exactly I’m referring to see: When It Matters Most, Tornado Sirens Don’t Sound – WOI or WRONG FORMAT: Madrid’s Sirens Faulty About the only […]
  • Stupidity Part 2..
It seems the story surrounding the reckless driving executed by the crew of the TIV and its support vehicle continues with more video surfacing on YouTube. This time a close up from one of the vehicles passed by not only TIV but Dog House and a Discovery Channel support vehicle all while in a No […]
