Chase Gear Wishlist
I just thought I’d run through some of the stuff I’d like to have for the 2010 severe season, however due to money issues I’m not sure how much of this will actually happen. First off, a GPS would be good for both navigation and to post to SpotterNetwork. I’d like to do live streaming video as well, which I’ll be doing through ChaserTV. If you are reading this and aren’t familiar with the site go check it out. Which brings me to communications gear, right now that consists of a Verizon cell phone (Moto Q), and my HT (Motorola Radius P1225 – UHF band). Obviously a HT isn’t going to go far on just 4 watts without the help of a repeater so getting something for the car would be good. I’m not currently licensed for the amateur bands so this may have to go on hold short of buying a Radius M1225 or other mobile that is in the same band as the HT. Its currently programmed for GMRS, perhaps I’ll post the details later. Given my plans for streaming, not to mention access to radar or other data, I’d need an aircard which will likely be through Verizon. At some point I’ll upgrade the hosting for this site so that some of the features will work a little better, or just work in general.
